From one-off components, moulds and prototypes through to full boat or caravan restorations and complete custom builds, LBM Fibreglass handles custom projects of all kinds across Brisbane and South-East Queensland.
Fibreglass is one of the most versatile materials available for custom projects. It can be moulded into almost any shape, is lightweight yet strong, resistant to corrosion, and can be finished to a high standard. That makes it ideal for one-off components, prototypes, replacement parts that are no longer available, and custom builds across marine, automotive and industrial applications.
At LBM Fibreglass we take on custom projects of all kinds. Whether you need a mould made from an existing part, a prototype for a new design, or a one-off component built from scratch, we work with you to understand the brief and deliver a result that's built to last. That includes larger-scale work too: full boat or caravan restorations and complete custom builds are part of what we do, not just standalone components.
Every custom projects job starts with understanding exactly what's needed. If you have an existing part, a mould can often be taken directly from it to reproduce an accurate replica. If you're starting from a design or concept, we work through the shape and construction approach to bring it to life in fibreglass.
From there we build the mould or master pattern, lay up the fibreglass to the correct specification for the application, and finish the component to the required standard. We take the same care with custom projects as we do with every repair: the goal is always a result that's functional, durable and finished properly.
We discuss the brief, look at any existing parts or designs, and work through what's needed before quoting.
A mould or master pattern is created, either from an existing part or built to the required design.
The component is laid up using fibreglass materials suited to the application.
The finished piece is gelcoated or finished as required, sanded and prepared for use.

Undeclared modifications can affect your entire insurance claim, not just the modified part, so keeping your insurer up to date helps avoid issues down the track.
