Fibreglass pools are popular for good reason: they're durable, low maintenance and have a smooth, comfortable surface. But over time, even fibreglass pools develop issues. Gelcoat fades and chalks from constant sun and chemical exposure, surface cracks appear from age or ground movement, and the surface can lose its smooth finish and start to feel rough or porous.

A cracked or leaking pool isn't just an eyesore, it can mean ongoing water loss, rising water bills, and if left untreated, further deterioration of the surface. At LBM Fibreglass we repair and resurface fibreglass pools of all kinds, from minor crack repairs and gelcoat touch ups through to full pool resurfacing.

Not all pool cracks are the same. Spider cracks, those fine hairline cracks in the gelcoat surface, are usually cosmetic and don't indicate a structural issue. Deeper cracks that extend into the fibreglass shell are a different matter and need to be assessed properly to understand what's causing them and how to repair them correctly.

We start by identifying exactly what's going on, whether it's surface level or something more significant, and whether there's an active leak that needs to be traced and sealed. Once we understand the full scope, we prepare the surface, carry out the necessary repairs, and finish with gelcoat to restore a smooth, durable surface. For pools where the gelcoat has broken down significantly across the whole surface, full resurfacing gives the best long term result.
